PBSSC was founded in 1978 by Colin Lushington at the then Potters Bar Pool (now Furzefield Leisure Centre).  Things have changed quite a bit since then, but we still aim to offer a safe and fun environment for our swimmers.

PBSSC owes its success to all the parents who have, over the years, volunteered as coaches and committee members, and we continue to need new parents to step up and help run the club in a number of ways.  The club supports all parents prepared to take up coaching through funded coaching courses, and on the job training from our more experienced coaches.

In 2006, synchronised swimming developed two strands, Competitive and Recreational.  PBSSC elected to become a Recreational Club.  We still compete in regional and National competitions, but only against other Recreational Clubs.

The club is run solely by parents of swimmers who volunteer their time as either coaches or committee members.
